How to Pack and Ship New Printer Supplies

Have a large order?
We also offer free pallet shipping by freight truck.

  1. Overbox your products. New printer cartridges and supplies must be packed inside a larger box or boxes. Shipping labels cannot be attached directly to products.
  2. Fill the empty space. Use newspaper, bubble wrap, air bags or other protective material to prevent damage in transit. Keep each box under 50 lbs.
  3. Leave all labels on. Please don’t remove any labels or tape on the products. We professionally remove all labels and identifying information when your order arrives.
  4. Include your packing slip. Your quote is your packing slip. Print your quote email and put it inside your box so we can identify you. You can also complete and print a packing slip here.
  5. Give your package to UPS. Any UPS driver or UPS drop-off location can accept it, at no cost to you. Keep a copy of your tracking number(s).

How to Pack and Ship Used / Empty Printer Cartridges

Meet the Minimum in Every Box

Ship a minimum of 8 used laser cartridges or 25 used inkjet cartridges per shipping box to qualify for free shipping labels. If you meet the minimum for either type, you may ship fewer than the minimum of the other type in the same box. Not following the minimum shipping requirements will result in a $12 per UPS label shipping charge to you.

Protect Every Cartridge

Shipping cartridges in their original boxes and packaging is the best way to avoid damage. Without the original boxes, wrap each cartridge individually in bubble wrap, newspaper, kraft paper or something similar.

Never Ship Cartridges Unwrapped

Empty cartridges are very fragile. Shipped plastic on plastic, they have an extremely high risk of damage. We cannot give credit for cartridges that arrive damaged because of improper packaging, and damaged cartridges will not be returned.

Include Your Packing Slip

The link to your packing slip is in the email confirmation you received after submitting your list. You can also complete and print a packing slip here.

Give Your Package to UPS

Any UPS driver or UPS drop-off location can accept your package. Check ups.com for the location nearest you. There’s no cost to you.

Common Packing Mistakes to Avoid

  • Attaching the shipping label directly to a product box
  • Leaving empty space in the box so items shift in transit
  • Shipping empty cartridges unwrapped, plastic on plastic
  • Sending a box of empties below the 8 laser or 25 inkjet minimum
  • Forgetting to include your packing slip
  • Packing a box over 50 lbs
