On Sunday, August 13th, 2023, Sandra “Woo” Lynn (Walker) Wooten, 73, of Worthington, Kentucky, suddenly passed away. Sandra was a loving and supportive wife and mother who tremendously loved her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and friends.
Sandra met the love of her life, Delbert (D.F.) Ferman Wooten II at the Sunoco Station with her Sorority Sisters after hitchhiking home from boot camp in 1969. Sandra and D.F. were married on September 1st, 1972, at First Baptist Church at Worthington (Worthington, Kentucky). They resided in Worthington, Kentucky for over 50 years and was a contributing member of their community.
Sandra was born on July 1st, 1950, and was the only daughter born to Russell Lyle and Barbara Ann (Salyer) Walker in Ironton, Ohio. After Sandra graduated from Raceland High School (Raceland, Kentucky) in 1968, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education from Morehead State University. After graduating from Morehead State University, she spent her career helping special needs children with diverse abilities in the Fairview School District. Sandra was an avid women’s softball player who was a force to be reckoned with at second base, and the number 3 will always be “her number”. She made lifelong friends whom she cared for deeply. They have three surviving daughters and seven grandchildren, including: Jessica Ann Eagle (Scott; Parkersburg, West Virginia), Simon Alexander Eagle (11, Parkersburg, West Virginia), Quinn Alan Eagle (9, Parkersburg, West Virginia), Valerie Lynn VanBibber (Chris; Ashland, Kentucky), Paige Elizabeth VanBibber (13, Ashland, Kentucky), Cameron Michael VanBibber (11, Ashland, Kentucky), Erica Renaé Moyer (Chris; Boliver, Ohio), Rhiannon Denaé Moyer (23, Clemson, South Carolina), Briley Del Moyer (19, Canton, Ohio), and Corabelle Renaé Moyer (4, Boliver, Ohio). A celebration of her life will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street, Ironton, Ohio with visitation from 11 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
